About

Designed for the young sim racer, a simple to build sim rig using a karting seat which is inexpensive & ideal for the young racer. I designed this for my granddaughter who is  3'9" tall & a version for 4'6" tall child, other sizes can be made on request. This rig is built from one sheet of MDF or plywood and inexpensive construction timber.

STEP 1 - Ordering

Choose the Plans, Digital or Physical.

OSR will send you the digital plans normally within 24 hours. The digital plans are released using google drive, this process is 100% manual, so a little patience is sometimes required :-). It helps the process if you have a gmail account, but this is not essential.

If you choose paper version these have a 10 day lead time.

    STEP 2 - Wood Selection

We suggest using 5/8" or 3/4" MDF because it's easy to cut & paint  Furniture grade plywood can also be used but note that the edge is hard to finish.

    • One 4' * 8' sheet of 5/8" MDF
    • Two pieces of 2" * 1" * 8' pine or similar construction lumber
    • Wood Glue
    • Wood screws 1 3/4" long

    STEP 3 - Joining Panels

When using MDF, you should NOT attempt to screw into the edge because it will split & will not be very strong.

We suggest screwing 1" pine strips to the edge and screw the side plates into the cross plates using the 1" pine strips.

    STEP 4 - Assembling & Cutting

Once all the OSR Plans, Custom Hardware and Shopping List parts have arrived you are ready for assembly. Follow the OSR Plans.

Use your 1:1 scale paper plans on the wood and cut with a jigsaw.
